After the first issue of The Tory Torch another round of national press coverage came in late August when the Associated Press published a story on the newsletter.

Five different newspapers, mostly in Virginia, published stories about the first Tory Torch. This time around they all seemed to realize the satiric intent.

Another short blurb about the Committee for Reunion with England was published in the August 18, 1975, issue of the trade magazine Advertising Age.
